“There is no passion to be found playing small—in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” Nelson Mandela

Trust me, you’ve stumbled on this page for a reason. Maybe you follow me on Facebook. Or Twitter. Or maybe you are simply avoiding the thing you really should be doing (I won’t tell).

Maybe, just maybe, you’re tired of life-as-usual and came here for a little inspiration. A little stirring of the soul. If so, you’ve come to the right place.

That’s because this blog is about PASSION.

It’s about PEOPLE who live passionately. And about PLACES that will stir in you a passion to see more (you know you want to).

Most of all, it’s a place to help you discover your PURPOSE in life, pursue it with PASSION, and CONNECT with others who are passionate, too.

So what are you waiting for? Stop settling. Stop playing small. Begin living the life you were meant to live. Begin now.

Yours in pursuit~

  • Love this picture – it makes me smile! So glad to have connected with you 🙂 Looking forward to getting to know you better, Laura!

    • Thanks, Arianna! I’m so grateful to have met you, too! I enjoyed your post about Zach and I look forward to getting to know you better in the weeks and months to come! Take care. 🙂

  • I love this picture too! I can just feel the thrill and fun and joy of being right where you are in that moment. I can almost feel the little drops of water as the waves break on the back of your legs and the sand squishing between your toes! Now, that’s someplace I’d like to go!

  • hi Laura.. I did indeed stumble on your page… was looking for an image of someone on a high diving board, about to take the leap, and suddenly found your blog. In reading your post re: the cancer, taking the leap, bravery, I was inspired and amazed. My leap at the moment is starting my blog, which doesn’t seem so huge when I look at it in context… anyway, just wanted to say I am so very pleased I found your inspirational and PASSIONATE blog, and I look forward to finding some passion in my life, too. Thanks!!! ~karen

    • Karen, hi! I am thrilled to meet you! Starting a blog is a big leap, trust me, I remember! But I promise you, you are taking the first step to a big adventure. The book I am writing, Defying Small, Embracing Small, is about living your biggest life RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE. Taking small steps, living in large ways, even when your life feels small. I look forward to reading your blog! I hope you’ll also follow me on Twitter @defyingsmall (and @ncbeachgirl75) and like and follow our Facebook page Defying Small. Have a great day, Karen, and keep defying small! Laura

      • Thank you so much Laura..! I can’t quite find the time to embrace Twitter. Between my studio work/commitment, blog research and writing, following all the other amazing bloggers out there, living daily life, walking my dog, getting stuck in Facebook, and trying to read a novel or two, I can’t imagine doing Twitter as well. Maybe in 2014 tho; I’ll see… In any case, I’m following you on FB, and look forward to your book .. can’t wait. Also– I’m launching my blog on the Capricorn new moon, Jan 1st.. it’s called “Cleaning Up the Studio”.

Happy solstice, have a wonderful end of 2013…

        Karen
